Can I make my own background images to use?

If so how do I achieve this? I read somewhere once that we could even make our own background images to use in our morphs and it said you could use Jpg images but I have failed at doing so. If you could please help me out in regards to whether or not I can do this and how I would greatly appreciate it, also I would love to know if we can make our own skins and how that could be achieved. I love wolves and would love to be able to create a wolf skin for my program. Thank you for you time and concern.
