Strobe effect stripes distorting morphed image

Have completed several morphing projects -no problem and excellent results. But now my "Image 2" picture appears in the Preview with the bottom half crossed with 50 or so diagonal red lines. There is no red in the original nor any diagonals or straight lines. This effect persists into the finished series of pictures. New problem? or old easily countered prob (fingers crossed!)
